If you are in the market for a bicycle, Cycle Teknix is the shop to come to. We are the authorised agents for Mongoose, GT and Schwinn. These are the preferred bikes we sell, simply due to the great value for money bikes they have to offer and very important, the great backup and after sales service the South African agents offer.
If there is a bicycle you would like us to get for you, other than the bicycles on our floor, we have got access to other brands as well.
We are here to give you the knowledge and guidance as to how you go about to purchase a bicycle. We guide you through all the component levels and diffrent parts that are available and for what purpose they are used for. The pros and cons of each product etc.
How do you go about making the right choice of bicycle.
- Phone the shop and speak to Hanber Leedo. Make a appointment with him and explain to him what you want to spend and what type of riding you are planning on doing.
- Hanber will then look at the all the bicycles that fall into your price bracket. He will put each bicycle name and model with all of its specifications and price onto a spreadsheet listed.
- He will then guide you through all the different levels of the group sets that Shimano, Sram and Campagnolo has got to offer. The pros and the cons will be explained. This will allow you to see what level of components are available and where your budget fits in. The same he will do with wheels, forks, frames etc.
- If there are any changes that you require to your bike, he will the change and swop out parts to suit your requirements.
- He then does a bicycle setup for you so that you are correctly positioned on the bicycle. Making sure the seat is the correct height, cleats are correctly positioned etc.
- Hanber will then explain how to do basic emergency repairs and what are the necessary spares to carry with you. He will tell you when to bring your bicycle in for checkups and when it will be due for its first free service.

And that is how you get the right bike and not wonder weather you have made the correct choice of bike or not. Hanber will guide you but at the end of the day you will decide what is best for your need and will be convinced that you have made the correct choice.
Should there be a bicycle that you would like us to custom build for you, we can do so. We will look at frames, group sets, wheels etc and build a bicycle to your requirements. We will do a bike setup and make sure that the bicycle is custom fit to your build.
We have a large range of test saddles like Fizik, Selle Italia and RavX. Before you purchase a saddle, first test one make sure that you feel comfortable on it, shouldn’t you feel that the one works then you just try another. When you have made your saddle choice we remove the test saddle from your bike and supply you with a brand new one.
